    Floating boat lift

Anyone have a Rhinohoist or Hydrohoist lift? Looking to install one and quotes for 5k lb lifts are coming in at $9500 installed. It is a bit higher than I expected. Any suggestions/reviews from those that have had one for awhile?

I look forward to this topic. Considering buying a lift as well.

I was able to by a Hyrohoist lift from a friend that was upgrading for $1800. Has worked great but 4400 pound capacity and I upgraded boats so needed more capacity. Found a dealer in Alabama that had an extra tank and was able to add it myself and was easy.

Not sure where you are but was quotes $8k for new 7k pound lift so your quote seems a little high. Agree the mechanics and plastic tanks are simple and shouldn't be too expensive.

If you look at Craig's List you can find them used every once in a while but suggest a professional install.

      Good luck.

Its about a dollar per pound brand new with about $500 install on the 4.4k and 6.6k, an 8.8k should run about 600-750 to install, as they are typically wider.

used going rate is about $0.50 a lb

FWIW, I like the 8,800lb hydrohoist i have under my boat. i can load up all the gear, fuel and people in the boat and never have concerns about the hoist failing. ****, i could probably bring it in full with ballast.

Thanks. I purchased a Rhinohoist shallow water from my local dealer. I’ll let everyone know how i like it after I get it installed.
