    GS20 extra ballast

Has anyone added extra ballast to their gs20? How much, where, results?

ya me too fellas...tried adding to the rear only and the wave washed out...think it was to much weight , my rear platform was submerged under water.

I have 600# sacks for the rear compartments and 500# sack that fits under the bow seats. You can't get 500#s in the bow sack because there isn't enough room under the seats. I would guess its in the range of 250-300#s. Without more weight in the bow 600# sacks are too much in the rear so I don't fill them all the way because the boat wont plane with that much weight in the rear. I probably fill them 1/2-3/4 full.

It definitely makes the wave larger. I can't remember if it made the wave longer or not. I haven't filled the sacks since last summer. I've just been using the stock ballast. Next time I fill the sacks I will take a pic of the wave and post it here.

Same. We add in front full stock ballast and then depending on numbers in the boat fill up front sack. We fill back sacks. I have 400# in each cabin and then will fill/empty stock ballast for adjustment.

If dont put lots up front it wont plane

There was a recent post in the general discussion area that touched on the gs20 ballast and extra sack setup
