    Impact vest sizing

Ok so the other day I saw a post about an impact vest and asked what they were. I’m old school and been using life jackets for years .

Today I found a phase 5 impact vest and like it but stumped on size

Ok so over the last year I’ve eaten too much Ben and Jerry’s and let’s just say my skinny chest isn’t so skinny anymore .

My medium size liquid force life jacket darn near constricts my breathing so wanted new vest.

Large too big. Medium too small so I need a lardium if all possible .

Ok so back to the impact vest. I tried it on and the medium much better than the medium life jacket but its still tight. I have to squeeze the jacket together to zip it up about 3 inches.

They don’t have a large to try and don’t know if it’s better or not. For reference I’m 5 foot 10 and weigh 171 pounds .

    Any input ?

My recommendation is try the smaller or tighter one, the newer style vests and material loosen up a little when they get wet. It'll feel snug when it's dry but when you get in water should be good to go.

I cant comment on your vest but the Stokes Nitro vest runs small. Maybe you could fit into a Stokes large. I love my Stokes Nitro impact vest

Yes. Get the Jet Pilot Daniel Super Powers comp best. It should work out perfect. I am 5’11” 175# and I ordered/ have a large.

I keep using a very old obrien neoprene vest just because of fit issues with new vests. these days the mediums are too tight and the larges are too big...

Seems this is one of the last few items that you gotta go to the store and try on...can't really online shop for.

Plus the newer style vest fit different when wet vs in the store.

Get the Medium. You want it to be very tight when you try it on new. Every impact vest will stretch out in a few weeks. If it fits without being tight now you will be tugging it down every time you get out of the water in two weeks of use.
