Best gear for beginners

New wake boating family here. My wife and I both have some prior experience but our kids ages 5, 7, and 14 are all new to wake boating. We will be buying a boat soon and I’m looking for gear recommendations.

What is the best wake surfing board for the kids to learn on? I’ve done a little research and most seem to suggest the Hyperlite Gromcast or the Phase Five Scamp for the kids. Also, not sure if we should be teaching them on the surf boards or the skim boards?

How about adults? I’m 6’1” and 200lbs. Best surfboard for me and our friends?

Also looking for any recommendations for wakeboards for kids to learn on?

How about ropes?

That is a good board to start on. I learned on this board back when surfing wasnÂ’t cool and fat sacs had waterbed fittings .

I would personally recommend teaching them on skim board . Seems easier to flip up for my kids
