Kids wakeboard

My son is getting into everything this summer and it’s getting expensive! However, I absolutely love every moment of it. He’s moved on from skiing and started wakeboard. I’d like to get him his own set up instead of borrowing. Any thoughts on what board/size would make the most sense? He’s 6 around 55lbs. There’s a listing on craigslist for a CWB surge. Can’t tell if that would be too big/advanced for him at this time.

I can’t speak for the CWB, but I have the Ronix Vision setup for my kids (daughter 9, boys 6 and 4) it works well for them. They are all just getting started into wake boarding

Do you know what size the Ronix board is? HeÂ’s learning on a 115. Trying to figure out if a 125 is too big of a jump. He is big for his age and growing quick.

I think 125 cm board would be fine. We have very small 9 year old that only weighs 55# and he doing quite well on a 128 cm Hyperlite Motive. Only thing is he doesn’t weigh enough and is not strong enough to flip the board around to the heel side if he falls toe side down.

Mine is a 120 I believe. My daughter is 9 and a little over 70 lbs and she is fine on it. She used it last year as well. My son is 6 and a little under 50lbs. He’s just kind of getting started with it.

So I bought the 125 and the poor kid just keeps sinking his nose and is having a hard time keeping the board in control. He was killing it on the other board. Does it seem like the size would be an issue or maybe the center fin? He took a front edge(been there many times) and it rocked him good.

Hmm. Is the board to heavy for him to control? Perhaps he could use the 115 until he's ready to move to the 125. I bet he will move to the 125 before the end of the season or by next season at the latest. The last thing you want is for him to get discouraged. They do grow fast and progress fast.
