    Does Anyone Still Kneeboard?

I've never tried knee boarding, but a friend told me that was his kids favorite thing to do growing up. I was thinking about getting a knee board for my kids, but wanted to see if others really enjoy it? What should I look for in a knee board if I decide to buy one?

It's a nice option to have on the boat for the kids who are too small to wakeboard or surf...

If I was looking for something for kids to ride behind the boat I would take a look at the zup board before a knee board.
You can lay down, kneel, stand and create and progress. Looks great for kids. I don't have any recommendations but there was a guy selling a knee board on this forum very recently.

Kids love kneeboards and to me it a much better option than a tube as they can test their boundaries and skill. For kids - get a kneeboard that has a hook up front for the handle. Do not bother with fins they are useless. Kids can ride laying down, progress to knees, then grab the handle and begin surface tricks. Any age or skill level can ride with the handle in the hook and they can easily progress on the same equipment. If you have 2 kids/boards they will have even more fun and confidence while riding together.

You can get a hydorslide magna for less than $100 bucks.

My kids love to knee board. When we go out early, I will ski and then they will knee board. When on butter, it really is a blast it is probably the best thing behind a boat when it is perfectly smooth, you really get to appreciate the smoothness because you are so close to the water. They love it.
Like srock said, the hook up front for the handle is really helpful. The other part, is the cushion comfortable?. Some of the new ones look like they will be but they have pressure points that make riding them almost unbearable. I also second the fin thing, they are completely useless.

I looked at the Zup before and I think my kids are a little past that. They all can wakeboard now. I was just trying to decide if they would like knee boarding before I bought one only to find out that they don't like it or get bored very quickly.

Personally I would skip the Zup becasue kids will progress beyond that quickly if they have any desire to be on the water and the handle hook on a kneeboard makes it so simple to tow and ride.

I started on a pro board when i was probably 10 or so. I’m 23 now and still enjoy kneeboarding. Seems like it’s not as common but you can do some great tricks and is very simple to get the hang of. Plus when you crash it doesn’t hurt as bad as wakeboarding.

It's a blast and with a hook anybody can get up on it. Easy way to get them off the tube and build confidence for more.

We bought one years ago from Costco. It held up great and was really easy to ride and pretty stable. The hook on the front makes things much easier too
