    D3 Nomad Vs. Connelly F1

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on the new D3 Nomad vs. the F1? I am in the market and am leaning toward the D3.

    Thanks,

    Nomad

I'm riding a Nomad. (no experience on F1) Very fast, very predictable. I'm a Men 4 - 32 off skier with an occasional 35 off pass. Made more 35 passes this year than ever. I'm a hack so it has to be the ski... 2 EP's this year to show for it. Yahoo!

Paul Crawford is the guy to talk talk to at D3.

      RE: Nomad

I was on F1's for four years. I did not buy the '06 as they told me they were not going to make any changes. They did, but I had already tried the 06 D3 X5. Both are incredible skis. I would say that the F1 is more agressive and turns harder (especially on the offside). The X5 is a little more stable and edge changes a little harder. The X5 is more predictable and appears to have a larger sweet spot.

I am certainly going to try the 07 F1. Connelly is a great company to work with. I would like to be back with them.

Sorry, I have not tried the Nomad. A friend of mine was on it and is now back on his Sixam.

Go with the F1. For the price, you cannot go wrong. I = my PB on the second set with the F1. It is a rock solid ski that has great build quality. The f1 is a very underrated ski.

One more tidbit. I was at the first tournament this year at Trophy Lakes. Apx 20 pros there and 30 other skiers like me. By far, the most popular ski was the F1. I had never seen so many in one place.

What do you think of the Monza, I had the opportunity to try one out this past week and I was very impressed. Where does it stack up to the F-1 & D3 Nomad? My second run out I was skiing like I'd been on it for the whole season.

              81,
I am back on my monza at least through the nats. It is the best ski that I have been on. I can ski as well on others, but not as consistant. I really liked the F1, and will ride it some more this fall. It just needs some time, and I dont have time right now to really dial it in. I only skied the Nomad at the test, and I could not make that ski work. But there were a few that really skied well on it. I rode my friends X5, and liked it better then the Nomad.
The monze is a very fast forgiving ski. It is a ski that needs to stay moving. If you are a stop start or slam type of skier, the monza will not work.
