We’ve finally beaten this board to death and it’s now time to replace it. We already have a Phase 5 Matrix for our skim board, so I’m looking for good suggestions to replace our surf-specific board for my 3 sons and I. We are all intermediate to advanced surfers between 5’ 10’’ and 6’ 1” and weigh between 170lobs - 195 lbs. I’m looking for something as fast and fun as our current board to surf behind our 2020 GS22, so does anyone have any good suggestions?

We have a Hyperlite Automatic that we really like. Not sure if it's advanced enough for you, and I don't know how it compares to your current board, but it gets two thumbs up from me.

I absolutely love my Frother (hyperlite/Super brand collaboration). It is a bit pricey, but has been worth it in my mind. Great drive and pop and gives an awesome ocean surf feel by being able to carve all over the wave (which is what I was looking for).

Completely missed this post
I’ve owned the parks carbon thruster.
I’ve been a huge fan of Doomswell boards. Great quality , great customer service , and competitive pricing. I’ve owned neo , nubstep and bandwagon. Currently still riding the Neo and Bandwagon. Doomswell doesn’t make the Bandwagon anymore which was a huge disappointment to me. Also own hyperlite shim and broadcast.
The Neo is wicked fast , almost too fast for us when fully loaded up. When you pump it it takes off. We ride a very steep wake , my preference , and my daughters. The bandwagon has a little more rocker to it , so just a bit slower , the the rails are little more rounded so it slashes better. It it’s noticeably slower than the Neo , you have to work the bandwagon a bit more which I prefer.
The Neo was my First true surf specific constructed board I upgraded to after the the parks thruster I had I had some Inland Surfers as well. Black Pearl, Swallow V2 Loved their boards too , but they really lacked on upgrading their line for bit, but got pricey for same old board with just a minor tweak and graphic change , so I swapped to Doomswell for the “construction “ look aspect and never looked back.
Brock at Doomswell has always returned calls emails and questions. I had one board come with defect , they took care of it immediately. Can’t say enough good things about Doomswell. Sure Soulcraft and few other “custom made boards “ are obviously highly reviewed and recommended , but for an out of the box “off the rack” purchase I feel
Doomswell gives solid product for the $$
I am 6ft 185lbs ride the 4’ 8” . maybe if I was doing more board based tricks I’d appreciate the 4’6” but I do 360’ s, airs , slashes , and grabs .
My 5’9” 125lb daughter prefers the 4’8 to the 4’6” but my 5’6” 115 lb daughter likes the 4’6”.
id recommend the 4’8.
I have not ridden their new Falcon. But all the reviews and people I’ve talked to that have say it’s just as fast if not faster than the Neo.

Awesome feedback, thanks fellas, and after a lot of research, it came down to the Doomswell Neo vs the P5 Ahi. Given how much we love our P5 Matrix as our skim board, I ended up sticking with Phase 5 and buying the Ahi. Honestly, for our new surf style board I was never going to go wrong with either of these boards, but we love our Matrix so much I ended sticking with P5 for the surf style board as well. It’s an early birthday present for me, and I won’t get on the water with it until Memorial Day Up North, but I’ll make sure to shoot out my impressions of it when all the snow melts around here .
Thanks again for everyone’s input and we’re counting the days until ice out to get back on the water!
