Can anyone recommend an advanced level surf board. I’m looking for something fast with really good edge hold. I want whatever is best for hard fast turns, don’t care too much about 360’s and what not.

I have ridden many of the boards on the market. In my opinion there are primarily four vendors of high-end wakesurf boards worth considering.
Blusurf, Soulcraft, Kanuk, and Hyperlite. Blusurf is the only vendor that builds a custom wakesurf board. And when we spend hundreds of thousands on our boats, hundreds weekly on gas it makes no sense to me to compromise on the surfboard. Especially if you are not 175lbs and 5'10", the size rider most boards are designed for. When you factor in your needs custom is almost always your best option. Because to gain speed you need a board with little rocker properly sized for your weight and height. I suggest you contact Blusurf.com and give them your requirements so you get a board that will perform to your expectations. Full disclosure I ride for Blusurf because having tried them all I believe a custom board is totally worth it. Tell them I sent you and you should receive priority handling.

Greggmck, I was hoping you’d be able to give some advice, always appreciated on this forum. I’ll definitely look into Blusurf for a custom board this off season, that being said I’m looking to buy something this week for my upcoming family vacation. What’s your best recommendation for an off the shelf board? 6ft, 185lbs. Thanks!!

Ok. In this case it largely depends upon what is available. Look in your local shops because it would be tough to get something mail order in such a short period of time. DM me what you find available and I will help you pick something that will achieve your goals. In general you are looking for a shape that is about 4'7" to 4'8" with a flat rocker. Another consideration is fin choice. This will significantly impact how the board rides. If you want drive (speed) and don't care about spins (360s) a quad fin configuration will be best. Also Futures BlackStix fins are VERY fast fins. For speed these would be my choice. https://futuresfins.com/products/ea-blackstix-3-0. Combine the BlackStix with these trailer fins and you will have a point and shoot rocket. https://chaossurfco.com/wakesurffins...-quad-rear-fin
