    Zero Off Speed Control system

Reading the latest waterski mag, my attention was drawn to the ad for ZeroGPS.com a speed control system that uses GPS technology.
It seems to have a good write-up and it appears Andy Mapple was very invovled in the development.
Have any of you tournament drivers out there seen or used this system, is it as good and realiable and as accurate as the claims suggest, has it been approved by IWSF for tournament use?
It seems a simple system and if the claims are correct PP could have some real competition....
    Comments please.

I sent them an email asking about how it deals with varying currents like we normally deal with out on river systems and haven't got a reply back. Can't see how this thing could compensate for that.

For slalom it is supposed to be speed over the bottom anyway. So, it would not need to compensate for current in that situation. The GPS would just maintain the appropriate speed no matter what the current is doing.

          pj,

Do you mean speed of the water over the bottom of the boat? If so, how does it do that without a paddlewheel like Perfect Pass? GPS alone would not be able to do that.

No, speed over the bottom of the lake.

More correctly, in slalom, it is the time it takes to get from one set of gates to the next that is measured.
