    Flight Clips

I have just received some new bolt on flight clips. Has anyone ever put on bolt on flight clips before? I did not recieve any instructions, therefore, I don't know where to drill the holes and the bolts don't seem long enough to go thru the entire flight clip.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

? Where'd you get the clips from? Post up some pics. I think Grant did the bolt ons awhile back before he got the CF racks.

      RE: Flight Clips

We installed bolt on's a couple of years ago and as you, we didn't get instructions with them. What we did to figure out how far apart we were going to mount them was to get your wakeboard and measure in between your bindings. You basically want to get them as far apart from each other but still fit in between the bindings (this will keep the boards more stable). As for the bolts, they do not go entirely through the flat bar. Figure out where you're going to mount them and drill a hole (the diameter of the bolt) all the way through both sides of the flat bar. Then on the inside, take a small holesaw (we used a step bit) and drill the hole out larger. You will then mount the clips and use the supplied plugs to fill in the larger holes on the inside. Be sure to measure the inside of the provided plugs to know how big to make the inside hole. If they didn't provide you with the plastic plugs, you can always pick some up at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Main thing....measure many times to make sure they are where you want them before taking off with the drill! Hope this helps.

When i first took delivery of my SANTE 03 in the form of an unassembled and shrink-wrapped boat in a 40' container, the hardest thing i had to do, apart from installing the windscreen, tower, finding all the drain plugs (engine) , was to drill the FCs onto the tower.
Yes, considering drilling the tower for correct placement was a headache..so i put it off.
Last year, there was a "for sale" in this forum for the u-bars or c-bars which were design for 04 model yr to attach the FCs.Because of a late reply,i decided that CC shd assist me and this they did.Now i have a tower without holes and "adjustable" and removable FCs.
Look thru this forum and i think the c-bars are still for sale. Better to buy them just to bolt on than to have permanent holes in yr tower.
