I have a 2000 Super Sport and do quite a bit of water skiing with my wife and two boys. All of us ski at different speeds and the boys are just learning how to slalom ski. Does anyone have advice on whether Perfect Pass would be a good addition to the boat? The product seems a bit expensive but I have never had any experience with this system and just wondered whether the value was worth the price. Thanks!

RE: Perfect Pass
I beleive it's worth every penny. You don't have to worry about adjusting speed just steering . It makes it so anybody can pull a good skier If you are ever going to run a course it's a must.Nautiqueless in San Diego

RE: Perfect Pass
Perfect Pass is worth its weight in gold.
You've already spent a good sum of money on the boat. The cost of PP in comparison to the boat is small, and you'd be shortchanging yourself by not buying PP.
For the experienced skier, it eliminates all driver error (short of failure to select the proper skier/speed or failure to give PP enough throttle to engage).
For teaching folks to ski, putting PP in wakeboard mode with the paddle wheel is also valuable. I've tried to manually control the throttle, however letting PP handle speed has turned out to be much better. If the new skier wants/needs faster or slower, all I've got to do is hit up or down and PP takes care of it for me w/o adjusting more than I would had I been messing with the throttle manually.

As a new convert to PP, I can wholeheartedly agree that this system will make your watersports experience much better! The system allows you to concentrate on driving a straight line, and I find myself only glancing at the display while driving.
My wife really likes the system as well, she was pretty good at holding speed, but now she can relax more while driving while I'm riding, and she enjoys that part more.

The best money you can spend on your wife and boat. It also makes it a little safer to drive when the lake gets crowded. The driver can pay attention to where they are going and not have to watch the speed of the boat.Current

I just installed in my 97 Super Sport. Took about 4 hours doing it by myself! Big Tip, duct tape a shop vac hose where you are cutting hole as the gel coat/fiberglass dust will eat you up after! It's really not hard, just time consuming! Had to use GPS after to set it just right. If you don\'t do it today, you will be one day older when you do!!

If you ski you really want PP Pro. It has both skiing and a Wakeboard mode. I don't know of anyone skiing with Wakeboard pro. The Paddle wheel is used for any speed under 24 MPH. and a combunation of RPM and paddlewheel is used above 24. I know drilling a hole in the hull is scarry but take your time and it's easier than you think. Just make sure you get the placement right. the big difference I beleive with PP Pro is the magnetic timing you get. Alot of courses today have magnets on the buoys and that allows PP to adjust the speed between buoys automatically. There is alot of help on this board. Don't be afraid to ask. Good luck.Nautiqueless in San Diego
