    wakeboard binding question

My daughter started boarding last summer. We put her on a Diva and I can't remember what the bindings are but they are a decent quality and lace up the front.

Problem is as she's starting to progress she is taking some pretty good falls and started bruising the top outside of her foot, not her ankles but the top between the toes and the ankle. I don't really see whats happening during a fall since I'm usually driving. She did this enough times where she had to take a weekend off and recover.

Am I setting the bindings too tight so she can't come out of them. I preferably like mine as tight as I can get them but maybe I'm wrong here. Any advice? thanks

    RE: wakeboard binding question

Good question, from my experience even if the binding is quality, presure points are different on every make and model. If you want to keep the same binding try twisting the tongue if applicable, then lacing them up, this may make a different presure point on her foot making the bindings more comfortable, and less bruising. Also, I suggest demoing, if thats possible, as many different bindings to find a comfy fit for her. It took me about 3 sets before I found bindings that did not bruise me. Good Luck

Some bindings are adjustable, the toe piece can be made larger which may help.
If you don\'t do it today, you will be one day older when you do!!

I have a friend that gets all bruised up nearly every time we go out. He doesn't get hurt, he just bruises easily. Plus he has a smaller foot too.

I have noticed on my feet that I can lace them too tight to where it begins to restrict circulation when I have a long session.

Have you asked her where it hurts?

I had a pair of the Byerly Boas and they were great, but there were some really bad pressure points. Did some trimming and and that fixed it.

Just throwing some other scenarios out there for you. Hope you get it fixed. Good luck.

I'll have to pay more attention to how her foot is fitting, feel for pressure points and see if there is anything we can do to get a more comfortable fit. Otherwise it's off to the pro shop. Thanks

Having a good set of boots makes all the difference in the world. I have been lucky enough to have received numerous pairs of boots to use and experience. I currently am using a set of Ronix Cell Boots, and I will say with no hesitation, that these are the most comfortable, best feeling, and well built Boots I have ever used.

My wife is currently also using a set of Ronix boots, as well as my friend in a pair of Ronix One boots, and both agree with me completely...

With Boots, you get what you pay for...
