    Trick Release

Does anyone have a trick release that is/was on their nautique that they are willing to part with. I am teaching some small children, and some disabled children to ski and would rather have a realse on the rope then try to hold it by hand.

    Thanks

    RE: Trick Release

    NCH2oSki,
The best trick release we've found is to take a small section of rope (about 2-3 feet) create a loop at one end just big enough to fit over the pylon. then, put the end of the rope through the end loop of your ski line. now, wrap the small rope around the pylone 2-3 times. once the skier is up, you can unwrap the rope so you have it around the pylon only once. when the skier is going to fall, just let go of the rope. it's WAY easier to hold onto than trying to hold the ski line itself. also, it's virtually idiot proof. if someone falls and you forget to let go, it will get pulled out of your hands.

        RE: Trick Release

its mostly used for trick skiers that do toe holds...it allows the observer in the boat to release the rope from the pylon in case of a fall.

          PJ,

That is an awesome idea, never heard that one before.

          C-Money,

Trick release attaches to the pylon, you may have noticed a small pinhole in your pylon towards the bow, that is where a set pin for the release goes, what it does is holds the ski line and the observer has a rope they pull to release the ski line from the boat. Widely used in show skiing for strap doubles, toe holds, etc. basically anything where you are not holding the rope with your hands or a situation where there is a chance the skier could get tangled in the ski line for any reason like jumping.
