Old Man On A Wakeboard

My 15 year old son rides a wakeboard and I would like to as well. I am about 210 lbs, and I need a board to fit me. I was looking at the Liquid Force Balance 143 or the Hyperlite Motive 144. What do you guys think, will one of these do me or would something else be better. I am not looking to do anything more than ride and some small wake jumps. I don't want a board that is hard to ride, I want the most forgiving easist board to ride I can buy that will fit my size. Any advise would be great.

IMO...two very nice choices, they ought to do everything you want. Both are easy to ride.

Another good choice would be the Liquid Force Rythm 147. We have one for the "Big Boys" that occasionally ride with us. You can find 'em on Ebay around $130 to about $150. I think the DLX 147 is the same board but now has four fins instead of the Rythm's two fins.

Hey... I'm a 210lb person and I ride the 2002 Balance 140. I like it a ton. If I were you, I would probably stay in the 140-144cm range in size. Even if you progress to just doing 180s, you'll find that it's easier to control this range, yet still be able to "Float" you in the water. Any larger, and you'll find yourself "lumbering" the board around.

Here are 3 additional boards that you might want to consider (i'm hoping to demo them soon): LF Substance, CWB Prodigy Platinum, CWB Absolute Platinum. All three in the 140-143 range.

And btw... I'm an oldie also... 40... So don't sell yourself short.... I am still planning on learning some new tricks this year (Toeside Front Roll... and if I got enough "Cajones"... Raley)

After much research, I ordered a new board from Wakeside.com Saturday. I got the Hyperlite Vero 143, I have a CWB Flame 140 that I got with my boat that I can move up to as (if) I improve.

Let me know your thoughts about the board. I'm going through the same analysis and was about to make a decision on LF balance, but would be interested in your results with the HL.

It's a great board. I got rite up on it and was jumping wakes in no time. It's a very stable, forgiving board.
