    Wakesurf boards question

does anybody know if the higher end wakesurf boards such as the inland sufer have foam cores? Are they as fragile as a "real" surf board?
We are using an older Hyperlite Landlock, and it's construction feels like a boat! VERY tough.

We're just learning, and if anybody has a weighting scheme for surfing let me know, our boat is a Pro Air with some extra ballast in the trunk and ski locker...

    thanks,
    Jack

    RE: Wakesurf boards question

I have both the 2002/early 2003 HL Landlock 5' 6" and a Inland Yellow Luge. The inlands are more fragile, and thicker so they dont fit in the racks as well as the HL, but the Inlands perform much better. For your boat I would get the Inland Blue Lake or Inland Red Tide. You will be able to keep up with the boat way more easily, they ride higher in the water and are faster. Also, on wakeworld there is a forumn dedicated to surfing where you can ask specific questions.

Do not be afraid to put more weight up front. It will lenghthen out your wake. I agea with jonfo on the inland surfer. i have the red tide, i weigh more than most, and it is great. It is very fast and easy to ride for a bigger person. If most of the people are smaller I would guess the Blue lake to be very good however I have not ridden one.

        RE: Wakesurf boards question

I have a bunch of boards in my arsenal. I kind of rotate favorites. My wife just got the Liquid Force Custom 4.2. She is pretty amazing on this board. She went from the old style Landlock, to the Phase 5 Oogle, to the P5 Icon, to this. By far her favorite board. A friend has pretty much retired his P5 Prop in favor of this board as well. It is foam coared, as are most of the high end boards, and weighs nearly nothing. I have not tried Inland Surfers. I don't think the boards are particularly fragile, but at the same time, I am really careful with them.

My Red tide scratches easy. Dent wise it is OK. My son just picked up the Custom 4'2" and it dents easier.
