Has anyone here ever ruptured their lower bicep attachment? I did a month ago. Completely. Had reattachment surgery. I'm in a splint for 3-4 more weeks and this season is history. I was just wondering what the future holds for skiing and or wakeboarding. I am 49years young.

RE: Bicep tear
I have, didnt have the surgery to reattach. 6 mo or so of down time. no long term effects other than it looks ugly and twisting like with a screwdriver can be painful. no watersport issues. was in late 30's at the time, your age now.

RE: Bicep tear
I ruptured my right bicep tendon in June 2006 waterskiing, and my left bicep tendon in March 2007 snow skiing. Both were surgically repaired and I lost most of 2 summers of skiing. The doc recommended 1 year before returning to ski, and my physical therapist felt 6 months was ok as long as I didn't take a hit. Last fall I skied easily and have made a few full passes this year. So far so good. My arms are fine since I focussed on getting them back into shape, but the lack of skiing has been brutal on the rest of me. The only problem I've had has been some tendonitis last fall as unused muscle groups tried to overcompensate. I think waiting longer than 6 months might be advisable. (I'm 51 now.)
I hope yuu have a speedy recovery.2010 SN 200 Team, Washington Promo Team
