    Cell phone ?

I droped my cell phone onto the swimdeck of the boat this week end and it did not make it. It did not get submerged but it was enough to short it out. I need a new verizon phone now and I was wondering what kind of phones or accesories are out there to help protect damage from water.

    Thanks for any advice, Nick

    RE: Cell phone ?

Set up a small fan and let it blow on the phone for a night....I have had luck mulitple time bringing a phone back from a water logged heaven. And, in once case....a new battery was the only thing that the phone needed. So, you might not want to give up on that dude just yet?

I will try a second battery but I am pretty sure the razor is dead. I did not let it dry long enough and it started making making noises when I turned it on. I am looking into a phone called a G'zone from casio. I am trying to figure out how cheep I can find it but I do not mind spending some cash for a phone that will last more that 2 years. Right now I am lucky to get 3 months on one LOL. If any one have used this phone I would be intrested in how well it works.

we have saved many cell phones that have gone completely under by simply taking it apart as much as possible and hitting it with a hair dryer, then leaving it under a lamp for a couple days... it does sound like yours is done though. If you get one that's not a flip phone you can use it inside of a ziploc on the boat. Kinda dorky but it won't get wet and it works fine.
How 'bout a little reverse action...

i put my phone in ziploc bags whenver i am spending the day at a music festival or theme park. you never know what liquids you will encounter there. and like squam said you can use it right through the ziploc. they make a snack size ziploc that is almost the perfect size for phones.

I also have the olympus Stylus 790SW, which is shock and waterproof digital camera. Got turned onto that one when my buddy had one, and the kids were eating cake and got icing all over the camera. I was apologizing, as he says "no problem, buddy" and runs it under the sink and washcloth... so I went and got one.
