I'm thinking the video clip of the key fobie shouldn't have made it past the sensorship screening. I'm suprised that Rachel Ray wasn't a little more excited about it.

haha I had never watched that clip until just now, I just saw the product at a trade show and google searched it to post it here... kind of a long painful clip and then hilarious at the end! Might be better off with a milk jug, haha
How 'bout a little reverse action...

Well if you go with the milk jugs, you won't be constantly reminded of Rachel Ray.

of course there's no sure way to test this out at home for weight capacity, but you could use a postage scale or something I guess.

just goes to show that if u can think of it, someone else has already done it....

as i was reading i was entertaining myself with the thought of a self-inflating key ring.... then u post that link i give up with my great ideas lol

              floats

Hollow Nautiques floatie did float with gas cap key and glove box latch key. In the kitchen sink. Adding trailer hitch keys, etc., not so good. More "science" later. 8-)

Ya know, I read this post last Wednesday and said to myself, "Self, you should test out your floaty and see if it works". Well I was having too much fun boarding and surfing this past weekend to be bothered with the test, especially since I have never dropped the keys in the 5 years we have had a boat.

Well, I'll be ****ed if I didn't drop the keys in the lake right as we were locking up the house and heading home. They sank like a stone. Had to break out the ol' fishing net to scoop them up off the bottom. Lucky for me I was at the boat house in a about 6 feet of water. My gas key, the key to my boat house, and the keys for the glove compartment and center locker were on that ring so life was going to suck for me if I couldn't find them

I put two additional floaties on the ring and tested them out. We have positive buoyancy

Yep, my 6 1/2 yr. old last summer liked the red star floatie on my keys, and kept asking if he could throw it in to see if it floated, well...THEY DIDN'T!!! I was swimming off the back of our friend's boat when he did it, and I watched him toss them, and sho' nuff, they sank like a rock! Luckily I realized they weren't coming back up and I was able to interecept them before they settled into the bottom of the lake!

I keep the deck gas cap key, boat key, and 3 small master lock keys on there...way too much. I sawed off the end of a "noodle" and added it to my key ring...

Keys aren't the only issue. I've got a $500 pair of prescription eyeglasses. I take care of them and wear them in the lake. Yep, the chums floatie works but I noticed on their site they have a mega version for heavier glasses. I suggest everyone check the sunglasses floaties in the kitchen sink or bath tub.

Would be nice to use that on the random idiot that ends up on the boat from time to time!
