    NorCal Wakeboarding

I currently live in SoCal and I ride at the Colorado River. My season begins the end of March (~60 degree water) and goes through Thanksgiving (~60 degree water).

I am looking to move to NorCal (Sacramento area) in the not too distant future and I wanted to see what the riding season was like. I know winter is cooler as are the nights.

Does it start as early and go as late or is the season a couple/few months shorter? I'm willing to throw the wetsuit on, but when does the water hit 60 degrees and when does it dip below 60 degrees?

    Just looking for an estimate.

    Any help would be appreciated.

We go to the Delta. The first trip was the first part of April. Water was 63 degrees. It was probably cooler up by Sacramento. Should be OK through Oct. I think the thing you will find is we have 10 times the places to go. Many lakes and the delta.

Never more than an hour from water here in NorCal. I live on the Delta. How long the season goes, really depends upon the weather that year. Some years, it's beautiful in February. This year it seemed to be lousy weather into May. Rains usually start end of October. Many people ski/board year round. A dry suit is helpful November through March. Many people have a tradition of skiing on New Year's day. BKH

Great feedback. I appreciate it. One of the main reasons I'm looking to move to NorCal is the ability to be on the water more often and it seems like the season isn't too different than what I have now. I'll just get to ride WAY more than I do now because I won't be 4-hours from my boat.

        Thanks again.
