I've had no problems at all with the 6.0 after 50K miles. Mine is a 2005 model and they made some changes that year to the 6.0 to correct some earlier issues, but I beleive that evene those were minor.
Mileage wise I get 17.5 unloaded (crew cab 4wd) and with a trailer its in the 16-17 range.
I'm planning to get an exhaust and chip soon to hopefully increase the fuel mileage.

Waxed and polished but winter just around the corner.
Has anyone tried one of these? It says it will improve gas milage. Thoughts ?

Gimmick, don't waste your money.
Yukon XL looks great.
PS be careful with tire size and lifting. Best way to destroy a good tow vehicle is to lift it and put big tires on it. The new factory 20's make a good upgrade option without sacrafice, they are the same diameter as your existing rubber.
For others reading this thread... Pay attention to motor size and gear ratios. Tahoes, Yukons, Silverados, Denalis, etc. commonly come with 6.0L or 5.3L motors and 3.73 or 4.10 axle gears.
My Tahoe has the 5.3L - 3.73 combination, drives great on the freeway, gets pretty good gas mileage, tows nicely but not super strong up hills (2nd gear in moderate grades).
My Silverado has the 5.3L - 4.10 combo, it's noticable quicker than the Tahoe, tows stronger up hills (stays in 3rd longer than my Tahoe), but I lose about 1.5mpgs. That's OK because I don't drive the truck very often.
When I replace the Silverado I may look for a 6.0L-4.10 combo, that should tow very well (I think that's what BKH has in his Silverado). I won't expect over 14mph ever.

RE: Re: RE: 2005 Yukon Denali for towing ??????????
My family and I use a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan to tow our 1994 Ski Nautique. It does the job of launching and recovering, and an occasional trip to the marina for maintenance. The minivan works for our purposes, but I would not use it to two my boat across the country. The Denali will do the job easy!
