Easy there Gride - How many falls have you had while footin? Most adults can easily take the 22+/- mph crash - try one at 40mph. That footin takes way more balls than a board ever will.
I watched plenty of style and progression in that video - show me a vid of your wakeskate start from the stern of your boat.
im just saying barefooting is limited, wakeskating is not. there are many mediums to do it with(boat, pwc, winch, cable, truck) and so many different types of apparatus to figure out like flat rails, inclines, boxes, kickers, etc. and it has so much room for growth and lets you be very creative.

I don't guess you have ever been footin before gride... my bet is that this kid will have the balance that few of us on this site could hope for on anything she rides. Hang on to the line at 40 and see how creative you can be.
Gride, I am gonna have to agree with the other dudes here. Footing is a gas. And takes a bunch of skill. And limited? as compared to what? Go try some side slides like she is doing. Or toe ups. I think you would consider wakeskating to be a good time to rest and lick your wounds afterwards.

I never understand why people post negative comments towards sports they cannot do or understand. That's some nice footing even with the help from the high pull of the boom and tower. That was also some awesome water during the side slide section.
These are the things I do and what I enjoy about each:
Slalom - speed and power
Wakeboarding - getting big air
Jumping - getting bigger air
Barefooting - speed, simplicity, and the connection with the water
Wakesurfing - relaxing and finesse
Wakeskating - getting goofy
Hydrofoiling - getting air and "sailing" smoothly over the bumps
Tubing - nah, just kidding...
I am no champion at anything but I enjoy everything.
^^ Agreed^^ who cares what you do as long as you are being safe and having fun.
None of those sports are particularly easy to do well without a lot of good instruction, good euipemnt, practice, and time. And I also do not feel that they are limited, either. There is always room for improvement and new moves.
