Then I could show you how Democrats engineered the whole thing. I could show you Barney Frank swearing there was nothing wrong at Fannie. I could show you how Democrats blocked every single effort at GSE reform. I could show you how Andrew Cuomo sued Accubanc for not making enough bad loans. I coudl show you how Clinton pushed Fannie into buying sub-prime mortgages in 1999.

What can you show me other than just having a hissyfit and claiming it's Bush's fault?

Yes I see it all the time. I am a real estate appraiser and saw people raping their homes equity to buy and do like they were from 90210. I see predatory lending all the time. You just cant believe some of the things people try and pull in the mortgage industry. Sad that it has hit so hard. I did not see it hitting this hard but new it was coming. I hope everyone on this forum is in good shape.

Actually, they go hand in hand. There are too many people out there that think having a boat is a necessity and not a luxury. This is the same with all the a-holes that knew they were buying a house that they could not afford and now feel they deserve and expect to be bailed out by my hard earned tax dollars. Now, we are having an economic mess that is affecting the boat industry, amongst many others based off of this type of greed and thoughtlessness from the mass public and government.

What did you show but spouting off useless political opinion. All you made were statements on your opinion, that does not show me anything more then you can be a politician. Before you just go grab a few facts off CNBC website, get a few facts straight. Yes Clinton pushed Fannie to buy subprime loans, but 2002 the bill to create strict monitoring of Fannie was shot down by Bush in order to maintain "free market capitalism". Also look at where a lot of this stems from interest rates, now it was the Dems who called for Greenspan's resignation in 2001 because of over stepping support of Bush's policies. Also in 2004 when everyone was calling for the Fed to raise rates, it was Greenspan who said no, and it was Bush who went on TV and supported the decision, said it was necessary for "GDP growth and International Trade".

As for Barney Frank, first of all my personal opinion is that he is worthless, but in fact when he said there was nothing wrong at Fannie there wasn't everyone could pay their bills. Just like no one looked at their 401K when it was earning 15% returns a year, no one thought anything was wrong, because there wasn't. As for the Cuomo case if you actually read the fillings, he did not tell them they had to make more bad loans. All the case did was say if they are going to make these bad loans then they can't discriminate who they make them to, everyone has to have access to these crazy loans.

I never said it was just Dems are Reps fault, in fact my opinion is that it is the people's fault for not being responsible. I just hate when people come out and spout worthless facts like they know what they are talking about, but they have no informed opinion.

The people who took the loans should be responsible for their actions. Unfortunately there are a whole mess of them that did, and it has taken the economy back a decade.
