Look, I'll throw in my take on it as the hot topic on ATL radio is more $$$ thrown at the automakers.
As a Delta employee who took a paycut several years ago after 911 I have personally given my fair share. To add insult to injury we all took another round of pay/benefit cuts totaling 21% to avoid going under for good. DELTA filed for Chapter 11, fought off a hostile takeover from USAir, fell off wallstreet, and still kept the planes in the air without one fatal air disaster.
The CEO Gerald Greinstein GAVE UP his salary for a year to make sure that he did his part to save the airline and over 50,000 jobs. Don't give me this CRAP that GM needs a bailout or anybody else. IT CAN BE DONE. I've been there and experienced it. I never saw a bailout when Eastern airlines quit flying. PAN-AM Never got a bail out either. All you you small business owners can be guarnteed one thing. YOU won't be getting one either if your business goes under. Why should they.....
