    Towing with an RV

My father in-law and I just bought an RV together. I grew up camping and boating and am very excited about spending some "quality" time with my kids (and wife) exploring the lakes around the Southeast and maybe even beyond. I have been towing boats since I got my license but I have to admit, I am a little nervous about towing and maneuvering with a 26-foot RV. The biggest thing is to obviously plan ahead and not go down a road that you are unsure of, but anyone have any handy tips?

    thanks

(a couple obligatory pics-we picked it up in NH a couple weeks ago, hence the snow)

    RE: Towing with an RV

i towed a SAN behind a 32' allegro a couple of years ago. it was pretty cool . . .the rv had a cameral looking out back so you could keep an eye on your boat while you traveled down the road. . . it had the big GM workhorse thing going on and you could not even tell the boat was back there. . . fortunately at Lake Ouchita at the resort we were staying at had a very wide launch ramp . . .once again the back up camera was handy and you were forced to use your rear mirrors and yes plan out in advance when you stop . . . had a hard time at Starbucks at the drive thru!!!!

Guy I used to ride with (motorcycles) drove a 38ft motorhome pulling a 20ft enclosed trailer.

What you have will be no different than a fullsize truck as far as tracking (my SD is 24 foot long). The big difference is in vision and being able to see the trailer. Just double check your blind spots when changing lanes and maybe get some mirror exstensions. you will be fine.

        Congrats on the purchase

I pull trailers through the drivethrough all the time, granted not at starbucks or in a motorhome, but it sure is funny watching them try to take an order from the trailer.
