The service finishes with a final roll call by the company first sergeant of the Soldier’s squad members. Each Soldier in turn responds, “Here, first sergeant.” Then, three times in a row, the first sergeant calls out the dead Soldier’s name. Finally, after the third silent pause, waiting for a response that will never come, a lone bugler sounds Taps.

When you see that service person in uniform, thank them.

They are even protecting your right to protest the very actions you are protesting.

Freedom is not free.

You cannot negotiate true freedom from a position of weakness.

got my son in from Westpoint for two weeks . . . what does he want to do? Go to the lake!!! Can't wait to take him out on the Python Beast . . . he will be at Ft Knox this summer training the "plebes" on some tanks and heavy duty stuff . . . will have one more summer as at home and then deployed . . .

my hats off to all the sons and daughters who give thier lives to defend us!!!!!

I just want to say thank you for the support, i am currently active duty army stationed a fort hood texas. I am getting ready for my second tour to Iraq. I always see everyone saying thank the troops, how we do so much to sacrafice everything we have in the protection of this nation. Well let me say THANK YOU. Your support helps the service member out alot, if you stop and think about it civilans send us care packages to Iraq. I am talking about little kids, you guys do so much for us and dont even realize it. You guys are my real heros. Its kinda weird i ran across this thread because tomorrow i have a military funeral tomorrow where im burying a veteran. So lastly thank you for all your continued support!! :grin:

I work with the DoD everyday for my job. We often joke about not wanting to get "jacked-up" when we're on military bases, but the reality is these men and women take their jobs very seriously, which I appreciate more than words could ever state. I love our country and the freedoms we are provided. I realize it is those who have served our country for the past 233 years who provide us with all that we have. Thank you for all you do. God Bless you, your friends and your families for all of your sacrifices. We, as Americans, appreciate it!!!
