    Golf cart

Anyone have knowledge of these? I want one to transport gear and kids to the boat. I don't know if I am better off with gas or battery model. Which brands to go with or stay away from. any help?

I'd go with gas anyday. Batteries just seem like too much trouble. Mostly you use the electrics on golf courses becasue they dont allow the gas models

To each his/her own I guess...I have had both..either one is either add gas or charge.
The gas don't have as much pulling power..Battery has more pulling power like .Putting in your Jet-ski in/out of the water... or moving your boat around on level ground....Yes the gas is faster on top...My Batteries are going on 6 years.still hold charge...from Friday to Sunday never charging...Then leave on charge.till you go again...Thats my 0.2 cents................

Gas are annoying. For simple transport I'd go electric. If I were getting something gas powered it'd be a lot more versatile than a golf cart -> quad or gator or something like that.

I see many nice carts in use at a resort in Central Washington (Crescent Bar). All types including 4 seaters, and carts that convert to a flat-bed for hauling gear to the boat. I think the brands I recall seeing are Club Car and Ingersol Rand.

I used to work in the golf business and in my opinion, I'd go with an electric Club Car. Hardly any maint., quiet, and no oil changes to worry about. The standard battery pack on ours were Trojan T-105s and most lasted 5-6 years.

                :???:

Yea, those gas carts don't have any power. Here is a shot of my Yamaha GAS cart with stock motor and a spring upgrade in the clutch. I also don't have to spend $400 every 4-5 years on new batteries or keep it charged all the time. Just park it. Then step on the gas when you want to go. One tank of gas lasts me almost all year. Gas all the way.

I also use it to pull a utility trailer packed with kids and parents for trick or treating during Halloween. Up and down hills all night.

my buddy has a gas cart w/ some mud tires, brush guard, and removable bed. when the bed is off it's a 4 seater. take the governor off and it's great. you just hit the gas and it goes. electric are nice for the quietness, but if you arent golfing don't get one.

Does that thing even budge the boat?

Yea, it pulls it anywhere I want. Even up hills as long as I get a running start. It won't pull it out of the water though. I occasionally use it to move the boat around.

I just bought an '05 Yamaha gas. I didn't want to hassle with charging and replacing batteries. the yamaha has a steel frame which makes it more durable than the aluminum club car. Yamaha also has more HP so it goes faster.

or get a Kawasaki Mule w/ diesel motor. Seats 4 and has a bed in back plus plenty of torque.
