    Movie Review: Transformers 2

I know this isn't a movie site, but there are LOTS of families on here. A word of warning: I took the kids (9, 7) to see Transformers 2 last night. In the first one there were 2 or 3 things I wish they would have left out for the kids sake. This one takes it to the next level. WAY too many blatant references to sex and a little too much cussing for the kids. Kinda wish I hadn't taken them, but that's my fault.

This is definitely a PG-13 movie.

We use the site below plus 99% of the time one parent previews the movie. (Good excuse to "get away".)

You do have to take it with a grain of salt. They make the move "Toy Story" sound like a horror film but in general you can key on the few features in each movie that might cause problems for your viewers.

Note the first movie scored 4 out of 10 on sex and the second movie scored 6.

Please read the write ups and report back your sentiment of how well it reflects the movie.

We usually limit our 7 and 8 year olds to 2.5.2 with the violence depending on the theme of the movie.

These reports usually come out the day the movie is released.

Great tip. I never knew a site like this existed.

My kids (8 & 5 year old girls) have been asking to see it so now I have some reservations.

      Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.

From the adult perspective, how was it?

Watched it last night... I thought it was great, but I felt a little uncomfortable with all of the language and sex references with little kids in the next row..... However, the movie was not near as graphic as the comments on megan fox by some rather obnoxious audience members..... Not that I disagree with them, but I didn't publicly announce it....

There is another my wife uses - I'll see if I can get a link. We usually put the two opinions together. Anything over "G" gets previewed by Dad first.

From an adult perspective, it was okay. Story was not fluid, just like the first (left a LOT of logic holes). But you don't watch movies like this for the story. The robots were once again too detailed, if not more so. Overall okay, but maybe wait for the DVD. The funny thing is the media is slamming about the 'twins' and their stereotypical black actions. I could point to thousands of movies that are worse. They did try to offset the violence with more comedic relief. A couple of good one-liners in there.

Thank you. I appreciate it. My rating levels are as follows...

See the movie in the theater

              Wait for the DVD

              or

              Wait for it on cable.

Sounds like this was middle of the road, per my rating levels.

We use the following site for movie reviews:

                http://www.pluggedinonline.com/

We went to see the movie without reading the review....and wish we didn't. Don't know what we were thinking. Was very disappointed.
                Peace..
