This is why we own 'em

This is from early August during his first real session. We are heading out today right after school to take advantage of the warm weather today!

That is an IS Black Pearl. I had it set up by Towanza with 3 fins; he now rides with the one center fin and just loves the board (although he talks about wanting a Flyboy...)

It's going to hurt to put the boat away for the winter.

My kid thinks the surf wake is pretty fun without the board too! I agree, tried it myself!

Our 5 year-old daughter has loved the EZ Ski Trainer this summer. It really built her confidence and comfort being pulled behind the boat at speed. She even finally tried to wakeboard, briefly . After seeing the funboard in this thread, I am in the market for one of those, as it looks like a great next step. Problem is, they seem hard to find! Family, friends, and fun is why we boat. We have loved bringing others out and giving them great summer memories.

Great pics guys! This summer has been one of our best yet. Not only did we participate in a Wake the World event, we had 7 family members wakeboard for the first time. Ages ranged from my cousin (40) to my niece (8). I'll have to get some pics up when I get home.

Went out late tonight mainly to test installation of a new prop before having guests aboard. Didn't take much including the camera. It was just me and Princess AirTool (age 9). I had been pushing on her to try the skate but she said she wouldn't try with others around. Also trying to get her to get up fakie on her board and then switch...also wouldn't try with others (especially her brother around).

Today was awesome...wind dropped about 30 minutes after we got there and water went to glass. She couldn't get up on the skate but she got real close before she got tired. She was able to control the skate before the start...that is the hard part for a beginner. I think she'll get up next trip. She did get up fakie on her board and switch. Then switched back...now going both ways. I've been on her all summer to try. Took a $$ incentive but now we got that behind us.

Next week I'll have the camera.

Many thinks. One other note...she said that was one of the best trips ever. She asked how long we were there? ...three hours?

I told her only two hours. She was surprised....said it seemed like three hours. I told her it was because she/we focused on the task.

                      No misbehaving
                      No friends/cutting up
                      No swimming to the island
No "third get in the boat....fourth get in the boat" from AirTool

She understood. Maybe next trip with her guests she'll stand a little taller.

Maybe someday when I'm dead and gone and she posts some money shots of little ones behind her Nautique, she'll run across this post.

Google fakie. There is no such thing except for on a skateboard, along with the terms cab and half cab.

I could not agree more. I seriously do get more pleasure teaching and watching my kids to ski/wakeboard than I do going out myself.

I didn't get a picture of all the highlights but for a few my son (8) learned to wakeboard on his 8th birthday and a couple of months later finally mastered the deep water start on a slalom ski. A few outings later got my daughter (5) up on skis of the boom for the first time.

Have to love Michigan summers and Nautiques. Now just have to keep my son from trying to convince me to trade in the Ski Nautique for a SAN.

Some progress since this thread was started a couple of years ago. My daughter, now age 4. She has gotten up three or four times with a regular slalom rope. However, I can't quite convince her yet that she can ditch the kids rope attached to the skis. Overall, very happy that she continues to imporove and continues to enjoy time behind the boat. BKH

2011 INT Rule Book has fakie defined and points for fakie tricks and landing fakie. Prior years had as well.
