    PSA - Hot Parking Lots

Well, it didn’t take long to hit an emergency clinic after getting our boat. Two trips to be exact.

No injuries while on the water, but the wife can’t walk after loading the boat. She jumped out of the boat to get the truck and realized she didn’t have her shoes, but shrug it off and away she went.

By the time she got to the truck the bottoms of both feet were blistered, one blister had ruptured and she was bleeding. Quick load of the boat and off to the clinic.

2nd degree burns to the bottoms of both feet. They debrided (sp?) the wounds, bandaged her feet and sent us home. No activity for about a week and no sun for 10 days due to the meds they have her on.

Lesson learned I guess, just feel sorry for her right now.

wunderground reports the high in the Republic today was in Alice, TX at 106 F. We were lucky in Katy today with some cloud cover and we just got an inch or raing about an hour ago.

Three Sundays ago we were out and you couldn't stand on the pier, ramp, or even the boat carpet/cushions w/o keeping them drizzled with a sponge. I wish I had a shower to keep them hosed down.

P.S. I'm impressed you have a wife that can go get the truck....was the trailer attached?

Yep Airtool, the trailer was attached. She's had 20+ years experience w/ a horse trailer, so the boat was fairly easy for her. But she won't park it at the storage cause the spot it too narrow.

I wish I could get my wife comfortable enough backing the trailer. She does an incredible job of trailering the boat, but just can not seem to get the backing part down. Pretty impressive to see a woman backing the trailer...

If I could get some 100F days up here in Minn, I would gladly offer up my wifes feet to 2nd degree burns.
It was 58f and cloudy all weekend and our water temp is still Low 70s.
