    Waterproof Camera Decision?

Anyone have any experience with the waterproof "Point & Shoot" cameras on the market today (i.e. Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 or 8000, Canon Powershot D10, etc.)? I dunked a non-waterproof to the bottom of Dale Hollow two weeks ago. This got me interested in the WP cameras with the floatie wrist bands.

    Thanks,

Get a regular good quality pooint and shoot, and then get a waterproof case for it. Have done this with a Canon and a Sony.

What about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1?

WakeSlayer....Aren't the waterproof cases pretty bulky? What about the cost of them?

      Thanks

They are a little bulky, but they are totally waterproof to like 30m. and have full touchscreen control. I do not have experience with the waterproof cameras, but my guess, without looking, is that you are giving something up on the camera for that feature in order to keep them priced so people will buy them. I could be wrong as technology changes so fast, and everything gets cheap fast. We have the Sony DSC-T200, and then bought the case that Sony sells for it, I think the case was about $150. We have had it a couple years. We bought the camera cause it was the first one you could zomm video while recording.

Proud - I have an Olympus Stylus 790SW that's awesome. I have three actually. My buddy turned me onto them, and they're great. Good battery life, with a charger, so you're not always buying batteries. Waterproof to like 10 ft., which is plenty to float around and get some good wake pics, etc. Freezeproof for snowboarding season, and drop proof. Check 'em out!! I love mine and would highly recommend it.
