I towed my 210 from California to Wisconsin and back with a 1/2 ton Suburban, no issues.
I do like towing with my 3/4 ton Silverado, but I've also towed a 226 up to Lake Tahoe and back with a 1/2 Ton Chevy pickup with small engine (4.8 I think), and again, no problem.

I have towed my 08 210 the past summer [ 6000 miles plus] with a 2001 GMC Safari van.
It did have suspension upgrades and trans coolers but the 4.3 L V6 had plenty of power. The problem is its wheelbase is too short. It wouldn't handle mountains very well and in a emergency situation I was afraid the boat would steer the van. The new Tow pig is much better. 2005 GMC Savana 1 ton 6.0 L it actually gets better gas mileage than the Safari towing.

New Tundra with 5.7 L is a beast (401 ft-lb) and the 5.3L Ford engine is no match. Also avail in Sequoia and Landcruiser. If they (ford) build it they will come. Ford needs a diesel v8 small block. Then I will buy one.-----------------------
