I sincerely feel for you guys. It will be December before I put my baby to bed for 3 months. It's still in the 90's here. Wet suits will be donned in about 3 weeks. Then the water temp will drop to low for wifey to get in, wet suit not withstanding.

        WINTER SUCKS!!!

If ANY of you are in N. Fla. anytime soon, all the pulls you can stand await you. I'll even throw on a few burgers on the barby.

        Regards! Mike

The season here isn't really over except for the kids have no tolerance for the cold and we really are too busy. Hopefully in a few years we can stretch it out another month or so.

Your kids and I can relate. As native Floridians, if it goes below 80, we go into a coma. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

              Definition of "Winterization"

These threads amuze me, especially from the "Floridians". Winter season in Florida? You actually put your boats away? Temps under 80 and it's snuggies by the fire? You're killin' me! I guess our passion is much higher here in Seattle, we ski all year (ya, I know, heard it before), there is no "winterization" for quite of few of us. Water today is 58, air a real brisk 39 but we're at it and won't quit. Drysuits are ok after Nov 1 so we just suck it up, well some things are really sucked up, it's been 3 hours and I haven't seen them yet! I'm not even sure I would want to relocate to Florida for warmer winters to ski, we do just fine. Most of you in "Florida" will call us idiots and maybe we are but we live our passion. Soon we will have the "Men's" trifecta - water ski in the am, golf 18 holes in the afternoon and then hit the mountian for some night snow skiing, life is good!

I truly admire your passion, but if the best I got was 50 degree water, I'd have to find another hobby. I'll tolerate water that cold to extend the season but not as a rule.

Wow!! Lessee, never called anyone an idiot........your passion higher than our's? Not quite pal. North Fla. gets cold compared to West Palm where I grew up. Water temp goes down to 50 and below on my lake. The point is , TO EACH HIS OWN.

Sounds like you're kicking me to the curb for what I said. NOT a good idea btw. I get so friggin tired of someone steam rolling someone else's non-confrontational post because you have a different view. You ski all year round. That's great. I'm happy for ya. I don't think you're an idiot, I think it's cool.

Ya know, I'm a DAM nice guy................BUT I get a little tired of some of the less than diplomatic people on this site sometimes. I suggest you read your post back to yourself before hitting submit, you may find yourself using a different tone. Reverse the scenario.

If you post that you ski all year 'round in WA. in a drysuit...........the only thing I'll think is good for you.....go for it. If I thought that was "nuts" I'D KEEP IT TO MYSELF!!!!

Here in southeast Idaho, temps are now below freezing at night. We are transitioning frrom water to snow to ski on. However, I'm holding off on winterization with hopes of skiing one more time. It's dumb I know, but we all want bragging rights for who skied the latest.

I put mine away a week ago on the 4th.... always a sad day. And like others said, it has moreto do with other sports/seasons starting up now than it does with the water temps. Although thats a good exscuse!
