I dont' want to be mean, just honost. I think its really childish. I've never seen a great boat company put other boats on their site and critizice their inventions. Especially when MC uses one of them--ballast. And also, why is MC comparing their XStar to the 211? They are NOT designed for the same purposes. If MC is posting some great inventions from other companies, they should at least know why the other company or "competitor A" build the boat and for who.
Secondly, they said running into the 211 wake is too steep. Has any wakeboarder out there found a wake that is too steep?
And third, they say that the CC w/ a hydrofiol can make the boat "hard to turn"--caugh caugh...
I don't wanna be mean to MC but I think they're just wrong, my oppinion. It was a nice try and fun to use. I see "boat wars" all the time on wakeboarder.com from fans, i'd hate to see one start between the companies themselfs.I Nautique, therefore I am.

I think they are referring to the "wedge" when they talk about the hydrofoil. Many Malibu owners do state that it makes turning a bit more difficult. I think that competitor "C" is Tige with the TAPS system and probably they are referring to CC as the ballast only company.Eric Fox

efox, I would tend to agree with you, but MC wen't out of the way to make very detailed drawings of their boats. If you see competitor "A" it is obvious from the stern view that it is the 211/226 style. I see where your comming from but I have to bring the pics in on this one...I Nautique, therefore I am.

I am sure Grandpa Meloon would not have approved of that type of marketing strategy and I am glad that CC chooses to stick to their guns. When you are the best there is, no reason to get cocky - but it is good to stay on your toes. This kind of propaganda will only make CC, BU and Tige all look very closely at the wake they produce and continue to improve their place in the market. Posative energy will continue to prevail.
Speaking of the 211, I was talking to Greg Meloon not too long ago and he said the 211 was expected steal sales from the 210 and 216 when it was first introduced - it didn't. CC put out something like 400 211s this year and the 210 & 216 numbers held strong. CC created a new market with 211.
Watch the other guys scramble to come up with their crossover boat.
Man it's good to own a Nautique - 'cause everyone else wants to be you!
Sorry Gramps!

I'm surprised that the 211 didn't steal from at least the 216. As far as the lake we are on, usually he sells a couple of 216s, but this year, only one, to us. And he sold like 4 211's when in the beginning he was only allowed two I think. He then got more. However, this lake doesn't represent all, but I have a feeling there are gonna be a lot of 211's on it next season!I Nautique, therefore I am.

I see what you are saying now, but really, the little wedge thingy is there on all three models and the last two look very similar altogether. I agree with Air211 also. When your the lead dog the view never changes. You don't see CC marketing by knocking the other brands. Make you product, say why it produces what you want, and don't make excuses why people don't buy it. If you build a good product that has a market, people will buy it without all the negative hype.Eric Fox

I've been watching this topic on Wakeboarder.com here and have to say it's pretty interesting. Hearing different responses from Nautique owners, MC owners, Malibu owners etc... they all are slightly different in reason. However, they all, including the X-Star owners, think its simply not good, and just fun to play with. If MC read it over there I think they would feel ashamed of theirselfs... pretty weird...as I write this I wonder what MC was thinking when they put it on their site...did they think it was gonna be da bomb? ok? just a joke? :? :? :?I Nautique, therefore I am.

I put that post on wakeboarder.com about the perfect wake, it just really annoyed me, and really was one of the final decision makers. i know which brand my moneys going at now... its just finding all the money to do it! LOL!

Thanks AbunDiga909
I specced my boat today, just got to make the call and order it now.. I won't pretend.. I'm **** scared! my last boat cost 1/3rd of this one! but i know it will be worth it.
I noticed the poll is not swinging in favour of MC over on wakeboarder.com, I really hope someone at MC sees it and does something.
