Hey guys--shipping question. I am selling my old bimini and extended pylon on this and other sites. I am in Phoenix and I have several interested buyers on the east coast. But when I asked the UPS store for a quote on shipping, they said that because of its size--even though it only weighs about 12 lbs--it must be shipped freight for $200-$300. Does anyone know of a cheap alternative for shipping a bimini? Thanks.

Most biminis come unassembled. The tubes are marked with colors or some other distinguishing mark and the fabric folded nicely. You shold be able to take apart the top and mark and box and ship with no problem. Shipping it whole would mean wrapping it somehow and might elimiminate UPS due to size. -

The one I ordered for my 2007 236 came from TowerBiminis in one piece. What about building a cardboard wrap to protect it and use some kind of shipper like Yellow, Motor Freight, or SMT? They generally have to deliver to a business, but I'll bet you could make that work.Comment
