    Luge Crash

So i wake up to the Today show on NBC this morning, and they are talking about this crash. As if that isn't awful enough, they actually show the entire video. I was half asleep when I saw it and it made me sick at my stomach. Maybe its just me, but I feel that was in very poor taste for NBC to show someone's death like that. Just feel like more respect should have been shown to his team, friends and family.

I agree, and all the major networks are showing this.

It got worse today. They went to his hometown and showed video of a grieving father and small tight knight community in absolute shock.

A horrible, tragic accident in and of itself, it did not need to be compounded by a classless TV network.

RIP and Godspeed Luger Nodar Kumaritashvili.

I wonder how all that would have played out if it had happened on live TV on a big viewing night.

I realize that any sport has its issues with safety (i.e. people getting their head through the handle skiing), but I am a bit suprised that in designing that course that no one saw these exposed steel pillars as an issue. I completely agree, it was in extreme poor taste for NBC to show this tragedy.
