    removing emblem stuff on truck

    I just ordered one of these http://nautiqueparts.com/correctcraf...ateemblem.aspx to put on my yukon. how can i get the residue off w/o harming my paint? i've never seen one in person. could i get the words off that black strip?

      I would use 3M spray adhesive remover, it wont harm paint. Got it at a car parts store

        tried goo gone. no luck. i'll try the 3m stuff. i'm thinking that will work since they are one of the best companies around as far as products that work.

          There is also an adhesive eraser that goes on the end of drill that works well. Might need a NAPA to find that

              couldnt find the 3M stuff. im going to try goo gone again. W.L. was out of the CC emblem i ordered so i gots time. thanks for the info fellas.

                  The 3m stuff is good.
                  Mineral spirits works alright too. Acetone will do the trick, but try not to rub too much or you could damage the clear coat. On an older vehicle the paint will be a little lighter around the badge due to fading. A nice buff and polish will take care of that though.
