Hey this Greg! Glad to see people talking about WTW. We just had our event a couple of weeks ago and are getting ready to fly down to Texas to help Ryan with WTW on Canyon Lake! Our event was crazy awesome! It just keeps getting better every year.
To those of you thinking about doing this, It is not that difficult and the rewards are enormous! Just ask anyone that has ever been involved.
This was our 3rd event, and we still have all of our volunteers from the first year.
I just realized there were 2 pages to this thread. The link I posted, and there are a few more on youtube, are the longer versions with the anchor people before and after the clip discussing it.
There is a WTW Tennessee planned for Lake Norris mid July 2011. Tim Wilking will the guy to talk to. I know that he would love to have help with this because he actually lives in Cincinnatti, OH.
This is his email: tim.wilking@gmail.com
We are also trying to find someone near Knoxville to help coordinate a Wake N FLake event on March 6th, 2011.
Wake the World Texas today went great. None of the boys on my boat had done any water sports prior to today. All of them had a blast tubing. 3 of the 4 boys on my boat got up wakeboarding. 1 of which popped right up his first attempt…ever! One of them did a slight “Ollie” on the wakeboard and on the kneeboard he pulled a surface 360. Was very impressed to see that getting thrown down the first day on the lake. Kids all had fun, we all ate great food, and all had a great time.
I just got back from Wake the World Texas. It was another incredible day on the water with the kids. They served Texas Bar B Que for supper, it was awesome! There were 10 boats for 35 kids, so there was plenty of water time for everyone. On our boat, we had 4 kids, Gregory, Edgar Selina and Isabella. The girls got up on the wakeboard on the first try, Edgar got up on the second try. Everybody tubed and kneeboarded.
It was great to meet everyone! I now know the meaning of "74green"!!!
I hate that I missed it this year, but I felt like KC needed me more. Ryan and Cory have done a great job in Texas with the help of AWESOME boat owners! Here is a link to the TV coverage that Ryan sent me: http://www.foxsanantonio.com/newsroo...9mnio.facebook
