    funny pic

    i was trying to find out about the reasons for gm engines being widely used in our type boats. was on a toyota epic page and read a thread about this boat and everyone was ok so i thought i'd post this. i think it was lake powel.

            saw one of these last week on Whitelake (on TOP of the water). It had some serious speakers on the back of the boat. Had never heard of them before this thread.

              The boat you are referring to (that you saw at WhiteLake) is a different manufacturer. The "Epic" from the picture is manufactured by Toyota (I believe). The "new" Epic boats have only been around for about 4 years and are a completely new company...marketed as a "hard-core" wakeboard boat. [It has 4,000 lbs of stock ballast, and comes with the transom speakers you were referring to.]

              The new ones are pretty interesting but I can say that I have ridden behind one and it was TERRIBLE. The wake was terrible, the fit/finish of the boat was terrible, the boat had gel coat and fiberglass cracks all over it, and it would not get in plane with the ballast full. We had to dump most of it. Of course it was one of the early model Epics (2007 I believe), and the boats are supposed to be a lot better now.
