    Helicopter Tour over Canyon Lake

Went out on a Helicopter Tour over Canyon Lake today. Departed from New Braunfels municipal airport and flew over the Guadalupe River. Thought I would share a couple pictures with you. The trip was awesome!

Pretty lake. Color of the water is very enticing. Thanks for sharing.

This lake is awesome. Water gets rough with weather and boating. The waves reflect off the rock walls. The coves can be better because there is some slope and trees near the shore. The water is best looking after long periods of drought (like the photo shown). Notice the bare rock exposed.

I have been there during the middle of the week and the water was like a mirror. The kids love it. Park in the middle 100+ feet deep cold water....and jump in.

74Green - it looks to me like they took advantage of the 16 foot low water level and re-built the launch at Turkey Cove.

I've posted this pic before but can't find the tread so will post again. Notice the clear water. PS - take a bottle of vinegar with you to keep your glass and chrome clean. This water is very hard.

they did and the ramp is AWESOME now. best ramp on the lake without a doubt. the paved ramp goes down into the water a LONG way and the the layout of the ramp is SICK. my sis has a house in that neighborhood and the ramp is 5 minutes from her hours. it ROCKS.

Yes weekdays are the best to hit the lake. I like going out in the evenings after leaving the office and having the lake to myself (somewhat). Weekends the lake turns into the “pacific ocean” as we say. Sometimes you get lucky and find a decent cove. I recall them doing some work at turkey cove ramp, but for the most part they didn’t do much too any other ramps that I know of. Thought they would have taken more advantage of the lake at a record low. Even with the rainy summer canyon is still clear, at wake the world last Monday the water was super clear at Jacob’s creek marina.

The sunrise photo is from the lodge there. Last trip was late 2008 IIRC. Skipped 09 in May due to promotion and work load (bad idea) and skipped september trip due to low level and closed ramp.

We were going to skip this year because I'd have to pack my bearings (I'm good at excuses.)

But lookin' at those shots is giving me the itch. Maybe we'll go early September after the holiday crowd.

hopefully soon man. i haven't been able to get out to Canyon Lake that much this summer because of work. i've been out 2 times this summer. i want to try and get out there one weekend in August, but if not, I'm definitely going to get out there one weekend in September.

canyon is so much better than Conroe and i want to get back.
