My buddy Eric, who on this forum is called Echo Lodge, foils. I don't know how often he gets on here anymore and I know he's at the River riding this week.
I saw a clip of him that another friend posted of him on FB this and he landed his first front flip this week. Very impressive...the crash before it was gnarly, but the front flip was awesome!!

Awesome im glad im not the only one and yeah im still in the learning stages i guess you could say i can land outside gainers and outside rolls but im working on my wake rolls and 360's, but hydrofoiling is much more fun to me i dont know what it is, i liked wakeboarding but its all a competition and eveyone is enemies and in hydrofoiling we are all friends and help one another grow. Another thing is in wakeboarding they dont have fly-in's where everyone gets together and rides and help each other out.

My buddy Eric keeps telling me he wants to teach me. He said the learning curve on the sky ski was steep and he beat the crap out of himself for the first couple of years, but he goes BIG now. I didn't know he was working on the front flip until I saw the video yesterday...probably on vimeo too knowing him. As far as the 360, he says there is a handle manufacturer who is coming out with a "T" handle. Once he has that, he said he'll start to work on the 3. He said without it, he's afraid of catching himself in the handle and really hurting himself. All I know is I enjoy pulling him and getting to watch him fly.

Give it a try i promise you will love it, i dont know what it is but its relaxing to get out there and just fly and i understand about the 360's there hard to do got a friend trying them and he doesnt have a t handle but has landed a few still learning. Make sure when he is trying the 3's that you have a manual release because if he gets wrapped up in the rope it will not be pretty site.

He definitely has a release so he's covered there.
The big advantage I see to foiling is being able to do it at any time of day, even in rough water. Right now I ride between 5:45am-8:30am and then my riding is done for the day because the water gets too rough...unless it's a weekday of course.
