So I am considering a trip next summer to a big lake, and want to rent a houseboat and bring my Nautique along for the ride. Any recommendations? Thanks!

My understanding is that Dale Hollow in Tennessee is GREAT for that.

I agree about Powell, but that would be a pretty long haul to tow your boat from FL. What about Bull Shoals?BKinSoCal - Brian

We really enjoyed Smith Lake, AL last year. There are lots of awesome houses for rent with docks. We found one at the back of a creek with diving board, water slide, stereo, and a fridge. The water was like glass in the creeks which run for miles.2005 SV-211

Center hill lake in middle tn is nice, has houseboats and a slalom course.
Norris Lake in east Tn is nice has houseboats, slalom course, and a gazillion boats during the weekend. They do have the best marina bars, food and music that we have found so far, but there is so many boats there on the weekends that its crazy.2005 Ski Nautique 206 SE, Acme 422, PP SG 8.0, ND Tower

Powell is a special place. Amazing scenery and fantastic water. It is a massive lake that you simply cannot see all of in one trip.
It's a long trip from SoCal as well. It takes 12-14 hours while towing, but that's nothing compared to driving across the country to Powell.
If you have the opportunity to go with someone who already has a boat in the western US, I would highly recommend it. I believe flying into Phoenix would be your shortest drive...about four hours.BKinSoCal - Brian
