Vacation lake recommendations

Hi all. We typically rent a house on a lake for a week in the summer and want to try something new this year in the NC/SC/GA area. We have been to Gaston and Norman a bunch and like them just want to try something new. We generally rent a house on the lake. Ideally we would like a place with nice smooth water for wakeboarding and yet have the amenities of restaurants/bars that we could boat to. If the lake gets a little busy on the weekends we can deal with that, as long as we have some good quality time on the weekdays. Any thoughts would be appreciated...
