    Sink clogged

So in clogged my sink with potato peels. Just undid the p trap from disposal and drained some water, but there is some blue compound on the non threaded PVC piece that seems to be where the water is supposed to go. Any tips on getting this off and what if anything should be used when replacing. Thanks.

The blue stuff is probably wet setting PVC cement. It can be wet with water when applied and still set. Great for sprinkler system repairs and outdoor jobs in the rain or wet trenches.

I'm not sure why they used it on your sink unless it was left over from a job and they didn't want to waste it. That stuff does go bad after a while.
