Best ski lakes in Twin Cities, MN ?

Time for a new house and looking for recommendations on lakes in the Twin Cities, preferably Northeast, North, East. White Bear seems too choppy too much of the time and too many tubers (and of course the lack of water recently). Bald Eagle seems extremely weedy, but perhaps it's not as bad as I think. Garvais and Owasso both seem good from what I've seen. Sunfish has nice houses but seems small?

    Thanks for your input,

It is not north, sorry...but i live on little 280 acre crystal lake in burnsville and houses can be had relatively cheap...there is one public launch with 17 spots and it is policed so only people on lake are homeowners and the 17 others. I wakeboard in the summer and only 4 miles from buckhill so i snowboard in the winter. It is not a destination lake so it is usually really great.

A bit of a drive from you but IMO but for a public lake, Medicine Lake, Plymouth....the North arm is one of the best Slalom runs in the metro. Its very protected from wind in any direction. Also, most non-skiers will stay away if they see you skiing there.

Thanks for the great input. I had to go out of town for the weekend, but we're planning to go look at all of these on Tue. They look good on paper.

Shhhhhh..... Rice Lake in Maple Grove, no public launch and a ski course....... Keep in on the down low.
Sold my boat to buy a house, the house is much less fun.
