Info on Green River Lake in KY

Looking for some information about the Green River Lake in central KY. We may be taking a group of Junior High students out for a day on the water in August. It would be on a Friday.

I have not been down to this lake. I normally go to Cumberland, but this lake is really close to where the students will be staying.

Here's the kind of questions that come to mind:

How's the water for finding opportunities to ski?
Is there lots of fisherman to dodge?
What's a good place to launch and/or stay the night?
    Houseboats?
    etc...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Green River is a perfect get away

I went to Green River Lake last year where a group rented one of their floating cabins. You can get one that holds 4 up to one that holds 12 that has all the amenties of home. The lake is super clean. I had the boat in the water for 3 days straight and barely had a skim line on the hull. It is a mix of ski and fishing. The nice part about the lake is that it is wide and long. You can easily find places to ski away from all the traffic and crowds. I definately recommend the trip. We are headed back July 29th.
