The wake was sick. Just amazing. I won't go into any other details, but there's a reason it's been a flagship hull since 2004. Also, road king trailers are nice.

Never speak such blasphemy! If I were boat less I would pick a pre 07 210 or 04+ x-star. I don't like pickle forks though. This thing has zero off and perfect pass btw. The plug & play ballast is really fast and simple also. I would prefer analog gauges over the digital read out in the center though; keep it simple.Last edited by gride; 05-22-2012, 11:04 PM.

The wake behind this X-star is a completely different animal than behind a pre 2007 SAN (as I am sure you know). I found the X-star wake enjoyable (a lot softer landings), but I did not like the fact that the area between the wakes was like a table. There was almost no lip from inside to out. I also think the X-stars require a lot more ballast and use more gas. Finally, the one I road behind had an annoying whistle coming from the engine or prop (but I think that is a boat to boat thing, not a brand thing). My 2000 SAN and my prior 99 Air did not have this annoying sound. At any rate, I will always take a pull behind one if offered. I also really like the wake of the older X-stars, which is a lot more like the older SANs (still not quite as hard or poppy, but closer).
The Mastercrafts I have ridden behind are nice boats. Still love my 2000 SAN more though. Now

I've spent a lot of time behind a 2000 star and a 2007 star. Great wake and a boat really built for riding. I've never nailed down a wake that I like more than any other, they're all just a little different and allow for different things. All that said, boat to boat, craftsmanship and quality on a Nautique always wins me over.2002 SANTE
