I don't think you over-reacted, my thought is if you can just get ONE person to not be a total idiot on the water, it could save someone else (or you) heartache down the road. My wife will get frustrated with me, but, when our son is in the water, watch out, she's a lioness!

I've had a few incidents that have been mostly irritating for their callousness, but a couple recently that have been dangerous. We had a guy in a 23' Bu dragging a toooob around in a small cove, in which 2 boats if they know what they are doing and following a pattern can coexist, barely, and was cutting around and doing what tooobers do. We had just finished up a set with a little one wakeboarding, and were pulling in ropes, some of the kids were swimming, etc.. and this MORON is cutting around and heads straight towards our boat, getting to within 50 feet of us! He was absolutely clueless, didn't know how to drive, wasn't using the mirror, and instead was turning his head to look at the tooob, not looking where he was going! Even my wife was ready to rip him a new one, we got out of there immediately...

Second one was scary, because if I didn't chop the throttle on the boat, this fishing boat was going to either hit us at about a 90 degree impact, or cut between the back of the boat and my ride, who happened to be my son this particular morning. Because the boat was full of young kids under 15, this MORON didn't get my full tirade, but I still told him he had a responsibility for his boat on the water, and that his actions were going to get someone hurt badly. Turns out the @$$&*)# was baiting his hook or some other crap while his boat was getting on plane! The bad thing this was in the morning with really no boat traffic to speak of...

No over reaction. I'm a pretty level headed guy. But someone hurting (or coming close to it) my kids, especially if its because they're being dumb, is the one thing that will put me in jail one day. I would likely have jumped in the boat and beat the guy. Good job getting the message across without being excessive. Those people may think twice next time, saving another potential injury.

I'm probably a bit biased here...

one upon a time... was me , my bud and a friend of his on my 210. we were surfing, week night, 7 pm on a desert stretch of the canal. Some *** on a sea doo thought it would be funny to jump the wave 30-40 ft from the boat...I yelled at him and told him to get lost...then he decided to jump the surf wave while my friend was surfing..ie 5 ft from my buddy... he did it once, i tossed the rope to my friend and told him to hop back into the boat, screw the phase5 board. He got back into the boat, turned the PP off and turned around to pick up the board. We chased the guy on the sea doo...I got next to him ( he was stopped) and I threw a freaking fast ball (small water bottle) to the guy's face. BOOMHEADSHOTTTTTT was the only thing that came to my mind. He panicked and he left in a hurry. I picked up the water bottle and we surfed some more. that's how we roll . lol

haha....pretty much. thing is, there's a Mohawk reserve next to where we ride...we kind of share the water...except THEY don't share...so I shared my bottled.

I would say that in instance number 1 you did not overreact that was just stupid. But in instance 2 I would have just let it go because he seemed like some redneck jerk that listened to only himself and his arrogance.
