    slalom course tips?

    Hey guys,

so my two weeks of heaven are here (vacation on a lake that has a course) and so I'm trying get into the rhythm and need some suggestions on how you time and set up the initial cut to slice through the boat gate to set up the first ball. Any tips?

i'm running at 15' off at about 30mph just because thats what I'm used to. I'm getting several orange balls currently and green the rest of the way, should I back off to the full rope length?

    Thanks,

If the course has the 55m pre-gates(green buoys), start your pullout to the left of the boat at the time the nose of the boat goes through the 55m buoys. Pull to the left so you are at least as wide as the buoy line, then turn in for the gates at about the time the boat hits the entrance gates. It will take practice and some adjustments to get it right. I usually tell course beginners not to worry about making it through the gates, just a nice pullout, glide, and turn in for the gates. No big deal if you miss the gates. Check out www.fifteenoff.com, there should be a lot of good info for you there.
