it's also very easy to change calibers, at least in some of the XD models. just a new barrel and magazine. it's the easiest thing disassemble and reassemble too.

I can't believe the dramas you have with guns over there, only kangaroos and police have guns here in oz.

And every Ozzie that visits me here in Houston asks me to take them to the pistol range or sporting clay shoot. They lather at the mouth and then ask their company for a transfer to H town.

I guess 'Kangaroo' is slang for 'bad guy'?

guns of all types should be respected for their lethality along with their ability to provide and keep freedom. without them i'd be speaking with a british accent rather than a southern one. without them i wouldn't be alive because hitler would have killed every jew. without them we cannot defend ourselves against an oppressive government(i mean like crazy oppressive). some may say well if we didnt have guns blah blah. even if EVERY fire arm was destroyed we still have our bare hands and plenty of other means of killing one another. i saw a picture over christmas of me holding a little 22 rifle when i was 5 or 6 with my dad. my first thought when guns are brought up is all the fun my dad and i had when i was a kid learning about safety, how to shoot, how to clean them, etc.(they were kept in a deadbolted room with an alarm. i killed my first deer out of my bedroom window in mississippi after spending days in the stand with my dad when i was 12. i have some guns that have never been shot and never will be shot. they can almost be looked at like really high end pieces of glass(for stoners). while they have a specific function they are still quite beautiful just to look at and admire the craftsmanship.

And they have always held their value....almost a better investment hedge against the currency swings than precious metals. And now, their value has rocketed...in more ways than one.
                  Peace..

So I shouldn't have a way to defend myself or have free speech? Jeff you can take my post down bc its your forum, but please do so bc YOU want to do so. Not bc someone doesn't agree with what I have to say.

There is an off topic room for a reason, and this thread is properly in it. If the substance of it bothers someone, then there is an easy solution... don't read it. It is not like there are racist remarks, hate speech, an incitement to riot or anything like that in this thread. So stop being a troll and do something productive.

i was going to make a snide remark about canada, but i happen to enjoy my handful of canadian friends and the few times i've visited their country. plus, most sitcoms and comedians do it for me already.

does anyone have extensive experience with 1911a1's? used to have a lil kimber ultra cdp, but i sold it a while back and just replaced it with a plane old mil spec iver johnson commander size. to be honest, kimbers are kinda crappy for the money. i'm looking to maybe change the slide stop, and have a gun smith mess with the sear to lighten up the insanely heavy hammer(defnitely 6lbs or more).
